Aiming to lower energy prices and provide expanded service options to consumers, law makers enacted regulations which allowed other companies besides Con Ed to provide electricity.
How will I be billed?
You will continue to receive one delivery only bill from Con Ed and an additional commodity bill from a third party supplier, but remember the two bills will always add up to less than your original Con Ed bill.
As a SmartChoice customer, who do I call if my electricity goes out?
Since Con Ed is still responsible for the delivery of your electricity, you should always contact them in case of an emergency or outage.
Will Con Ed treat me differently if I switch to SmartChoice Energy?
NO!!!! Con Ed is actually encouraging customers to switch.
